Types of soap dispensers and soap holders from Blomus
Blomus offers various types of soap holders, each made of a different material and tailored to a specific place in the home. Below, you can read what characterizes each variant and for whom it works best.
Freestanding soap dispensers (washbasin and kitchen counter)
The freestanding dispenser is the most popular option for next to the sink or on the kitchen counter. A dispenser dispenses a controlled amount of soap at a time, preventing waste. Soap dispensers ensure a neat appearance without bottles lying around.
The Ava dispensers are made of mouth-blown glass with a plastic pump, have a diameter of approximately 8 cm, a height of 13 cm, and a capacity of 250 ml. Each piece of glass is unique; small air bubbles occur as a characteristic of the handcraft. The Ava line is available in smoky grey, orange-brown, and clear glass shades and gives a light, almost transparent appearance to the surface next to the tap.
The Modo and Modo Rof dispensers are more compact: a slim cylinder with a diameter of 5.5 cm, a height of approximately 16 cm, and a capacity of 165 ml. The material is titanium-coated stainless steel with a distinctive diamond relief (knurling) on the outside of the Rof variant. A rubber anti-slip pad is located on the bottom to protect the surface. Blomus offers innovative soap dispensers with a minimalist design; the MODO line is a good example of this. Soap dispensers are available in various colors and materials, and the MODO series comes in Black, White, Burned Metal, Satellite, and Brushed Stainless Steel, among others.
Wall-mounted soap dispensers (space-saving and sleek)
Wall-mounted dispensers are the perfect solution for a small toilet or a bathroom where shelf space is limited. The MODO wall-mounted soap dispenser is attached to the wall with screws and has the same dimensions as the floor-standing version: 5.5 cm diameter, 16 cm height, 165 ml capacity. The plastic reservoir is removable, making refilling easy.
Those seeking a sleek, hotel-style interior choose this wall-mounted version. The dispenser visually disappears against the wall, keeping the washbasin clear. Self-adhesive soap dispensers are easy to install without drilling; however, the MODO wall-mounted version features screw fixing for maximum stability. The titanium coating on the steel increases corrosion resistance and makes the holder more scratch-resistant than untreated metal.
Soap dishes and soap bowls for bar soap
Blomus also offers soap dishes for those who prefer bar soap. The Sono soap dish is made of ceramic with a soft-touch coating, has an oval shape, and a height of 1.5 to 2 cm. The round SAYA soap dish shares the same soft, matte finish. The Nexio soap dish in black steel (approx. 10 × 8 × 2 cm) has a powder coating and a scratch protector on the bottom.
Lovers of traditional soap or sustainable alternatives consciously choose a soap dish. Ceramic soap dispensers are available in popular earth tones. Combine them with towels in matching neutral shades for a cohesive look.
Key features of Blomus soap dispensers and soap holders
Material, finish, and functionality determine how a soap dispenser feels and performs in daily use. Below, you can read what makes the difference for each feature.
Materials: glass, ceramics and (stainless) steel
Soap dispensers are available in stainless steel, plastic, and ceramic. At Blomus, you see this variation reflected in three distinctly different material lines.
Saya and Sono are made of ceramic with a soft-touch coating. This coating provides a matte, soft texture that feels pleasant to the touch and makes fingerprints less visible than a smooth finish.
Modo, Modo Rof, and Nexio use steel. The MODO line features a titanium coating over stainless steel, which increases corrosion resistance. Choose stainless steel for a longer lifespan. Nexio uses stainless steel; the black variant has a powder coating. Stainless steel is a popular choice for soap dispensers due to its stability and the industrial or hotel-chic effect.
Finishes and colors: from black to cream
Blomus works with calm, modern colors: black, white, tan, moonbeam, nomad, magnet, and other natural tones. The matte coatings on Sono and Saya ensure that fingerprints are barely visible. Polished steel (such as the silver NEXIO dispenser) looks stylish but requires slightly more maintenance to prevent stains. Natural stone soap dispensers provide a timeless look; Blomus achieves a similar effect with the earth tones in ceramic. Bath&Living helps with combining bath textiles from Blomus in neutral tones for a complete interior.
Ease of use and refillability
Most Blomus dispensers have a removable plastic reservoir (like MODO) or are easily refillable by unscrewing the pump. The silicone ring on the bottom of the MODO dispenser keeps the soap pump stable on the sink and protects the surface from scratches. Refillable dispensers reduce plastic waste by using bulk packaging. You choose your own favorite liquid hand soap or dishwashing liquid for the kitchen. Do not overfill the dispenser to prevent overflow. Frequent use of dispensers supports regular hand washing in workplaces.
Hygiene and maintenance
Smooth glass and stainless steel surfaces are easy to keep clean with mild soapy water. Clean soap dispensers with soapy water and not harsh chemicals. Dry your soap dispenser after use to prevent stains, especially on polished steel. The soft-touch ceramic coatings are easy to wipe clean with a soft cloth and mild dishwashing liquid; harsh cleaning agents can damage the coating.
Use pH-neutral soap to prevent rust and keep the pump mechanism running smoothly. Soap dispensers improve hygiene by reducing contact with dirty hands. Automatic dispensers prevent cross-contamination through contactless use; the Blomus line is manually operated, but the smooth surface is quick to clean after every touch. Rinse the reservoir regularly with warm water to remove soap residue.
How do you choose the right Blomus soap dispenser or soap holder?
The choice depends on where you place the dispenser, the type of soap you use, and the style that suits your bathroom. Different types of soap dispensers are suitable for various environments. Use the criteria below to make your choice.
- Place of use (bathroom, toilet, kitchen) - For a small toilet, the MODO wall-mounted soap dispenser (ø 5.5 cm) is practical because it does not take up space on the washbasin.Larger floor-standing dispensers such as the Ava (ø 8 cm, 250 ml) or the Modo freestanding (165 ml) are suitable for the bathroom or kitchen sink. A luxury soap dispenser makes washing hands a moment of indulgence, even in the kitchen.
- Available space and installation - Wall dispensers are attached to the wall with screws; this looks sleek and permanent. Freestanding dispensers are suitable if drilling is not desired. Self-adhesive soap dispensers are easy to install without drilling, but Blomus opts for screws for wall mounting due to the stability of the steel chassis.
- Interior style and color palette - Black steel and titanium coating (MODO) suit modern or industrial bathrooms. Soft ceramic shades such as Moonbeam or Nomad (Sono, Saya) complement Scandinavian or natural interiors. Glass (Ava) works best in light, minimalist spaces. So choose the best soap dispenser that suits your style.
- Type of soap: liquid or solid - Liquid hand soap belongs in dispensers; solid soap fits perfectly in Saya, Sono, or Nexio soap dishes. Foam soap dispensers mix liquid soap with air for better distribution; with Blomus dispensers, you use standard liquid soap. Consider a combination of both next to the sink.
- Maintenance and family situation - Stainless steel and glass are ideal for busy families: smooth surface, quick to clean. Soft-touch ceramic is popular with those who prioritize comfort and a stylish appearance, but requires a little more care when cleaning.
- Budget and investment in styling - Blomus is a premium brand, but the products last a long time thanks to the quality of the materials. Combine them with other Bath&Living bathroom accessories such as toilet brushes, toothbrush holders, and laundry baskets for a cohesive design.
